These are the frequently asked questions regarding our home made, hand-made product, The Big Cheese.
If you have any other questions that aren’t listed here, please email us at info@dougiesdogtreats.co.uk.
Why are my chews a different size and colour?
All Big Cheese Chews are homemade and cut by hand, we don’t use any machines to press or dry them out. Therefore they will all be different shapes and sizes. They may differ in colour depending on external factors like outside temperature. Our chews are sold by approx. weight rather than size.
Why do my chews have white patches on them, are they mouldy or unsafe to feed my dog?
No, some chews have calcium deposits on the outside, just like you may see on cheese that we eat. It is perfectly safe and in fact can add more flavour to the chews which the dog love. However, in the unlikely event you find black spots on the chews, please let us know, send it back and we will refund or send you a new chew out and cover the postage.
How long does The Big Cheese last?
Our chews can last for many years as they contain little moisture. However, we place a use by date of 2 years as standard.
How should I store The Big Cheese?
Place in a cool dry place away from other dog food or chews. Do not keep in the fridge, or in any airtight container as they need to remain dry and well aired.
